COMMISSIONS FAQ
Collapsible content
Do you take custom orders/commissions?
Yes! I would love to bring your ideas into the real world!
What are my options?
Models -
Unlike many makers, I don't offer particular "models". Tell me what sizes, weights, and shapes you like, and we'll figure out the best fit!
Materials -
All of my pens will incorporate some sort of resin, acrylic, ebonite, or other threadable material to encapsulate the nib unit and converter in an air- & water-tight environment. Exotic timbers, micartas, synthetic opal, and abalone can be used in your design, as well as small amounts of metal trim.
Nibs -
My default option will be a Jowo #6, however I can (and do) make pens for Bock & Schmidt #6, Bock & Jowo #8, Pelikan M800/M1000, and others. Chances are, if you have a nib in mind, we can incorporate it.
How long does it take?
Lead times vary throughout the year, depending on demand and current happenings in my life. In general, plan on at least 4-8 weeks turnaround, though it is frequently quicker.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a 50% deposit will be collected prior to beginning.
Will you recreate previously commissioned pens?
Sure! I am more than happy to make a pen I have previously made, again!
Will you recreate another maker/company's pen?
No.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Sometimes, however I assess bulk discounts on a case by case basis.
Will you rush my order?
Nope. It's just not fair to keep kicking folks to the back of the line because they can't fork over extra cash.
How do I get started?
Head on over to the Commission Request page and use the form for your submission.
I will reach out within 1 business day to confirm receipt of your request and give you a rough quote on turnaround time.
