The only species in its genus, Thuya is a cedar-like tree native to Morocco. It is exceptionally fragrant, and prized for its beautiful color and grain, especially in burls. Burled wood can have some incredible grain structures, and this piece is no slouch, with lots of birdseye pips and spiderweb-like patterns! It has been sealed and stabilized with CA, and polished to a high gloss.


DiamondCast® is a patented (Patent #12,005,614) material made with a urethane resin, designed for McKenzie Penworks,and a combination of real, green quality diamond and various pigments. It is mixed in a state of the art mixer that removes air from the mix and all blanks are heat cured for maximum strength.
