Vietnamese Amboyna refers to burl wood, most often from the Narra tree (Pterocarpus indicus), which has a distinct, desirable appearance with swirling red and orange patterns and "eye" clusters, making it highly sought after for luxury items and fine wood art. It is one of the most prized and expensive types of burl wood available, valued for its rarity and unique beauty, and is not a separate species but a name for this type of burl from the Pterocarpus genus.
